Our "Special Care Center" run by Shiva Foundation started on 2nd October 2017 in Gokaka Nagar is a source of hope for the orphans and the underprivileged. Since its inception till now our guidance, help and local kind hearted donors have joined hands. Selfless service to the flood victims is commendable. Similarly, I hope the organization will give its service for the empowerment of the society.
"Let us all strive to bring these darling children into the mainstream of society."
Yours

Shiva Foundation This NGO is rendering its selfless service in various sectors of society since 2nd October 2017. The service rendered by the workers of this organization during the flood was outstanding and I congratulate them.
It is welcome that basic facilities have been provided to the orphaned and underprivileged children by starting the "Special Children's Care Center" with the financial help of generous donors.
"Let's support the underprivileged and build a better life"
Hello. I am Ramesh Pujeri from Gokak of Belgaum district Ganeshwadi village of taluk. Basically we are a farming family.I am an Engineering graduate.
I spent about days doing technical work in a private company in Bangalore. Later I was a technical officer (M & E Officer) in a non-government organization in Belgaum district where my main responsibility was collection of data from odon district.
Repeated visits to the ART center were required for data collection. Every time I visited, I observed children living with HIV and at risk. It was very common for those children to suffer from malnutrition, education, psychosocial problems and other health related problems.
Those children had a longing to live with love and affection and a desire to learn with us like other children.
Although I did not work directly with the people of the society and community,
I had a mind to understand the problems of children and suffering lives. Sometimes I felt very sad while talking to the children.
The reason for that is that he, including me, is deprived of the love of his father. As days passed the number of orphans increased.
Along with this, the number of concerned people who want food, accommodation and education facilities also increased.
After discussing with friends at our house, the organization was registered in the name of Shiva Foundation in 2017 according to the government act and the final form was given.
In the first phase we have given top priority to "Special Child Care Center".
We and our friends initiated the process of identifying orphans and underprivileged children living with HIV in the field where we work.
After this we started the "Special Child Care Center" on 2nd October 2017 as we have enough number of children to start this center.
We met the local donors and took up the activity of persuading them to help. At the same time we met the MLA of our Arabhavii Constituency, Honorable Mr. Balachandra Jarakiholi, the social justice administrator,
about the work we have done. He agreed to help and guide our work.
Special Child Care Centre:
As explained above, we are going to provide food, shelter, health, education, clothing, nutritious food, entertainment, sports and psychosocial support services to the children with the help of donors.
There are caregivers who treat the children with affection. Locally, the public in the neighborhood treats them with affection without any discrimination.
All children are getting education in government school. Guruvrinda takes great care of children.
We are seeing medical commitment in children who take pills every day because of the change in the health of children due to eating nutritious food, yoga meditation.
For children as a whole, this care center is a bond that forges healthy relationships without being confined. Due to this, the children are living with cohabitation.
Orphaned and underprivileged children living with HIV often suffer from psychological stress. For them... we are doing an activity in our center that is... life skill training.
Life Skills Training:
Children are taught psycho-social and interpersonal skills through various activities that provide mental well-being and lead to a healthy life, conducted by trained trainers.
In these training children are taught basic life skills such as: problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, creative thinking, communication skills, interpersonal skills, self-awareness, stress and coping skills, in a child-centred participatory approach.
This helps in coping with the daily life needs and challenges of children. Children are living a happy life with the feeling that we are ours by creating a complementary environment in which they can co-exist with each other.
Service to flood victims:
Last year i.e. 2018, the flood of Ghataprabha river came and many people of families were affected by flood. During this time, with the help of local donors, our center prepared food and went
to their places to provide meals and basic necessities to the victims. This work has been appreciated by our MLAs and Tehsildar Saheb of Local Revenue Department. Some organizations have honored our workers.
The Covid-19 infection crisis:
In 2020 many families were struggling to support their families without work as a result of the lockdown during the Covid-19 infection crisis. When we got information about such a situation through ART center Gokak, we went there and supplied ration kits to such families.
Ration kits were supplied to the needy families with the help of our care center and local donors for those who voluntarily came to the organization's office.
Services provided to other children:
Since the establishment of "Special Children's Care Center", we are working towards bringing children into the mainstream of the society, not only the children in the center, but also the children in our society due to the lack of facilities and the children who are above the age limit, the work of delivering services such as ration, educational materials, clothes and school fees etc. to their homes is
continuously going on.
ART commitment:
During the Covid-19 infection crisis, we ensured the medical commitment of children living with HIV by providing them door-to-door with medicines.
It is only with the proper guidance and help of generous donors that the organization is able to serve the underprivileged in the society. Because it does not receive any government funding.
Those who lead the organization need willpower which they all have and I have realized my responsibility and ability. We are grateful for all their generous help and cooperation.
I hope that their cooperation will continue to serve in the coming days.
Yours faithfully
